I suppose I take pictures for a simple reason: making a habit of seeing beauty around me is good for the soul. Besides, I’ve always loved light in all its myriad forms, except maybe the blinding sun on the morning drive to work. Light has the power, like a new snowfall, to transform ordinary to extraordinary.

To begin to see things differently is to begin to change. To see things with opened eyes is not just a matter of honed eyesight. We are verbs, not nouns. We are always in action, engaged with the world. So it is that seeing is who we are. Why take pictures other than to awaken in others something of ourselves encapsulated in a moment of seeing deeply? What better way to connect with others than to share what we see? Why else look at photos than to share in the vision of others and perhaps learn to see things differently?
